Young Nigerian Writers unveil Int'l Poetry/Essay Anthology on Covid-19

YOUNG NIGERIAN WRITERS UNVEIL INT'L POETRY/ESSAY ANTHOLOGY ON COVID-19 In a bid to contribute her own tranche in the fight against coronavirus, the Society of Young Nigerian Writers which is a national umbrella of young writers in Nigeria, has unveiled a new classical anthology on COVID-19. This was contained in a statement signed by Izunna Okafor who is the National Coordinator and Chairman of the Writers Against COVID-19 Movement, —a broad project under which the anthology was birthed —as well as the Editor-in-Chief of the anthology. According to the statement, the journey to the anthology began in April, following their announcing of a 'Call for Submissions' to that effect, in response to which over 200 writers from different countries of the world submitted 'pretty' poems and essays. COVID-19: Will Maigoro Survive ? Maigoro is a poor fisherman man who dwell in a city named "..........". Utterly wretched! His house was built of mud hut. Before the sun rises and warms the sea, maigoro was already on his way to the river. He constantly hung his rag fishing net on his left arm, and on his right hand lies a basket contained with a small bowl.  Maigoro manage to sail all day eastward of the river, struggling with his small fishing canoe, carved with few planks of drift wood held together. Poor maigoro could only get little and sometimes he hauled in his nets to find out there was not even a single fish caught in them. Although, this was because his fishing nets were so frayed, and the holes in them was so large that a whole shoal of fish could have swum through them. Call for Submissions: COVID-19 Poetry/Essay Anthology

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: COVID-19 POETRY/ESSAY ANTHOLOGY Society of Young Nigerian Writers, through her newly launched 'Writers Against COVID-19' movement invites writers to submit poems and essays on COVID-19 for her upcoming COVID-19 Poetry/Essay Anthology. The proposed anthology is in reaction to the novel COVID-19 pandemic currently 'harassing' the world; and it offers writers copious page to register their views on the pandemic, as well as contribute their pencraft towards winning the war against the virus.
